I know I haven't been on Livejournal in a while but I've been buried under with school and family. Mostly school.
The good news is that I've been accepted into the nursing program at my school. If I can manage not to screw up this semester and get the legwork and paper work done, I'll start nursing classes this summer. I'm super excited but incredibly stressed out.
I hope everyone is doing well!
Somewhere between essays, tests, and math problems, I have been completely obsessing over the Marvel universe again. I thought I was over this but the Avengers movie and seeing Thor on Netflix this past month has pulled me back in. Admittedly it's more the movieverse this time but still I don't have time for the fan fiction searches! So many possible pairings, so little time.
I wasn't even a Loki fan until I saw the Avengers and then I had to see Thor. Curse you Tom Hiddleston! You are far to adorable for my own good!
I'm going to have to change my header and icons now.
Edit: Correction. I wasn't a fan of Comic!Loki. I know far too much about Loki's mythology not to be a mythical!Loki fangirl.....I am such a nerd.
Feel horrible right now. Woke up this morning and was worried I was catching pneumonia. Went to get checked out. Good news: No pneumonia. Bad news: Still sick.
I know I haven't updated in ages but I've been very busy. I've moved and am preparing to return to school. Also discovered a few new fandoms that I really should have been in already. I've gotten deeper into the Star Trek Reboot fandom, discovered the Heroes fandom, and am very late for the Doctor Who party. My geek cred is almost complete. :D
Also I have a delicious account now so most my recs are there. Will post the link soon.
Oh who the hell am I kidding. Of course I'll end up buying Teen Titans at some point. I take my Tim/Kon moments where I can find them.
Also, Tim is still Robin due to the fact there is no way I'm going to accept the existence of Damien Wayne.
I have a confession to make. I haven't been following any comic book series for a while. I just got tired of the having to follow like 12 different comic series just to keep track of three characters. I need a comic book with a nice self contained universe. Marvel and DC are both out. As much as I love Batman I can't bring myself to buy Batman, Batgirl, Batwing, Nightwing, Catwoman, etc etc. It just gets old having to following so many storylines. I'm still attempting to collection Deadpool comics because my love for Wade is all consuming and a little troubling.
I've been poking around and found some comics that either have self-contained universes or a small enough universe I should be able to keep track.
If anyone's read any of these comics let me know what you think. These are just some I'm thinking about trying out.
The Walking Dead - Haven't seen the tv show that goes with it but hell, how can I say no to zombies.
Fables - Fucked up fairy tales. Warping fairy tales is a bit of a weakness of mine.
Invincible - Young super hero coming into his powers and trying to design a costume and come up with a super hero name. yadda yadda I've read some if the first comics and it looks kind of awesome.
Gladstone's School for World Conquerors - Look at the title and ask why wouldn't I read this.
The Sword - Read the very first issue and found myself intrigued.
Any recs would be appreciated!
I've started writing several fics recently. Considering the fact that it's been several years since the last time I posted anything, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Here's to hoping I finish one.
Supernatural has eaten my brain. Seriously, I'm driving my friends nuts trying to get them to watch it so I have someone to geek out with.
I can't wait to get my hands on Dragon Age II!
